On this page you will find one image per category to give you a rough idea what to expect per segment. More images and information can be found in the specific galleries.
Photographer Stirling will work with you to visualise your marketing communication and can be hired for the following photography disciplines:
Photography for advertising campaigns, websites and publications where the image plays a key role in bringing the message across. It is usually staged photography on location or in the studio where everything is carefully planned and styled. The lighting set up and postprocessing matches the branding and positioning of the company.
General corporate photography to visualise what the organisation does, where, how and by who. You can think of people working in offices, factories, shop floor etc. Portraits of people where the in- or exterior of the company is subtly visible, images of the interior, exterior, production process, research and development, logistics. etc.
Interior shots of factories, people at work in technical and industrial environments like chemical industry, food industry, technical installations etc.
You're product or service is only as good as the people who make it all happen and even especially in this digital day and age, it is more peoples business then ever. People will associate with your brand if it suits them but the affinity with the people that work for your company is key. For this reason portrait photography and headshots of your staff is strongly recommended. Portrait photography is the post popular and practised discipline of photography and perhaps even the most difficult one as well. Photographer Stirling has been practising portrait photography ever since he picked up the camera for the first time. It is still as exciting and challenging as ever. Portraits can be taken on location or in the photo studio. We can also build up a studio in your premises if space allows.
Very much a niche market in the photography industry, but certainly one of the specialisms of Photographer Stirling. Vincent Hartman has been photographing interiors even in the days of analogue photography where whole area's needed to be lit specifically for this purpose to bring contrast within acceptable levels and of course without showing that this has been done. Now working digital means that that is hardly needed as the dynamic range can be increased by combining multiple exposures in post processing. Key in interior photography is combining a realistic coverage of an interior with making the image appealing and graphically interesting to look at.
Depending on the type of product, the product photography will be done in the photo studio in Glasgow where lighting conditions can be carefully controlled. Perhaps needless to say is that you product specialist is very much welcome during the shoot to assist and monitor results.

For both local (not in Stirling just yet..) and national publications we have shot cover material and double page spreads. This can be unique in situ portraits, sports, landscape you name it. The Stirling Area
If you are fortunate enough as a photographer to live in Stirling than it is unavoidable to capture some of the stunning scenery every now and then. The only gallery where pictures have been created without being given the job to do so.
These days the fast majority of what we do is architectural and interior photography in Edinburgh, Stirling, Glasgow and rest of the central belt in Scotland. With architecture and interior photography the challenge is always to draw a fine line between photographing an interior or a building as experienced by the user's perspective of a space and the designer’s or architect’s perspective. Add to that the photographer's need to compose a graphically interesting and appealing 2 dimensional image and it becomes clear that interior and architectural photography is a very specialised niche, but certainly one that we enjoy!
“Architectural photography is the task is to capture the intention behind someone else's design — to distill the philosophy of a building into a single, digestible image that transcends explanation. It's not easy, but when it's done well it looks effortless. So much so that you're left admiring the building alone, and likely never think twice about the person who helped you see it. “ by CLAIRE O'NEILL , NPR in the article: The Photographer Who Made Architects Famous.
Interior Photography Glasgow Edinburgh
With interior photography we try to show the function, layout and design of a space from different angles and perspectives. This can be at eye height (with all its varieties) or way beyond that. Also very low camera standpoints are used when for instance attention needs to be drawn to the ceiling. In theory the same space can be photographed in different ways, if the client is the ceiling manufacturer, flooring or furniture manufacturer or the interior designer. In all situations we maintain vertical lines and try to maintain horizontals. These days we rarely add light to a space like we used to do when working on film, as the dynamic range of today's digital sensors is impressive and we blend multiple exposures in post processing.
We do interior Photography in Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as in The Netherlands for a variety of clients, but we mostly photograph commercial interiors.

Been practising portrait photography since the early nineties and still find it the most exciting and challenging discipline of photography. Partly because everybody is interesting and different in their own nature. Partly because it is always an adventure to translate a three dimensional face and body into a pleasing 2 dimensional image that does justice to the personality.
In addition to this it makes a huge difference what the aim of the portrait is and where it will be used.
Corporate photography: all relating to profession, work and the people who do it.
(Yes I know I need a copywriter...)
Industrial photography comprises a combination of different photography disciplines, like interior photography, portraits of people at work with different lighting techniques as well as the production process, logistics, etc.
Grown (well not really, but nevertheless) out of photographing clothing in the studio as product photography and cover shoots. Good fun and great results can be achieved with the right team of enthusiasts.
Working for a number of publications as a freelancer, enabled me to adopt different styles per magazine. Either very corporate, contemporary and clean or dark and rustic and sometimes very pure and basic, almost press style photography.
Also on assignment of national industry specific magazines in technical installations, politics, management, property development, healthcare and much more. It illustrates the versatility of Photographer Stirling (who didn't take the images here locally, but that's not the point of SEO:).
High resolution photography for large format print on the side of lorries, exhibition stands, interiors etc. From 3 to 52 meters wide without losing detail. More images will follow in due course.

As a commercial photographer we usually don't go out with camera gear to enjoy the countryside. Photography is work after all. When we did some sort of landscape photography back in the Netherlands, we did it because the publication needed images of the 'so and so' area and I had a clear brief what to capture, why and where.
Up here in Scotland I it is different. I am a bit like a tourist with more time on his hands and stunning scenery literally on the doorstep. I don't have to run around like a happy snapper to get as much images as possible to show of 'friends back home'.
Just every now and then when I feel like it, I go out and about with a vague idea what to shoot and do just that. It could be a short walk or a few hours driving (and even walking believe it or not) and I could come back with the one image I wanted.
No client, no invoice, but a very happy 'snapper'!
So please come back to this page, because it will certainly grow!
Worth a look is the link to large Panoramic images on the Large Format page.
(working on it, but if I have done my job right, the images should speak for themselves)
